Vietnam Memorial Wall Comes to Huntington
The 240’ wall will be set up at Peter Nelson Park – corner of Oakwood Road and Pulaski Road.
Through the efforts of Huntington Town Board member Mark , the moving Dignity Memorial Vietnam Wall will arrive at Peter Nelson Park on September 28, 2010 at 11 a.m. It is being escorted by a motorcycle rally, starting from CitiField. It will be free and open to the public 24 hours a day for continuous viewing from October 1 through October 3.
Formal ceremony commemorating the wall’s presence in Huntington will be held on Saturday, October 2, 2010 at 3:30 p.m.
The wall is dedicated to the veterans of the Vietnam War and honors all U.S. servicemen and women. The Dignity Memorial network of funeral, cremation and cemetery service providers created the replica as a service to those who might never visit the nation's capital to experience the original memorial firsthand.
