Gold Coast

This western most North Shore neighborhood is famous for a history of estates and millionaires epitomized by F. Scott Fitzgerald's The Great Gatsby. This conceptual museum room extends from the Nassau-Queens border into Suffolk County. The Glen Cove-Oyster Bay area is at its center. Many of the magnificent homes from the bygone era have been preserved for public enjoyment. The Stepping Stones and Execution Rock Lighthouses are offshore components of the Gold Coast neighborhood.

"Glamour. Elegance. Lavish parties. That was the true Gold Coast. The rich brought fabulous European lifestyles to Long Island."

Michael Butkewicz, Chelsea Mansion, Muttontown
